Last week, Congressman Salud Carbajal (CA-24) was reappointed by his Democratic colleagues to the House Agriculture Committee. As a member, he will continue playing a direct role in crafting policy that supports farmers and farmworkers, agriculture production, and critical food and nutrition programs on the Central Coast. “The Central Coast is one of our nation’s agricultural powerhouses, growing crops that feed communities from coast to coast,” said Rep. Carbajal. “That’s why I have always been proud to be a member of the House Agriculture Committee, to highlight the hardworking growers, fishermen, ranchers, and farmworkers on the Central Coast who not only provide our communities with fresh, nutritious food, but also help generate billions in economic activity that fuels our local economy. I am committed to ensuring that the Central Coast remains a leader in agricultural innovation, sustainability, and prosperity, while protecting the livelihoods of those who make it all possible." In addition to serving on the House Agriculture Committee, Congressman Carbajal serves as a senior member on both the House Committee on Armed Services and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, including serving as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation. |
