Rep. Salud Carbajal (CA-24) voted today on a clean extension of government funding that averts a costly government shutdown. “After days of bending to the will of unelected billionaires and the chaotic whims of the President elect, Republicans have moved forward a deal similar to the one they killed earlier this week Sadly, this chaos in governing has further become the norm for Republican leadership, and its unpredictability has real consequence for American businesses and Central Coast families,” said Rep. Carbajal. “While far from perfect, I supported this stopgap measure to keep our government functioning and prevent further harm. I hope my colleagues on the other side of the aisle can spend the holidays reflecting on how to put their constant infighting aside for the sake of the people we serve.” The funding resolution passed this evening by the U.S. House of Representatives sustains current government funding levels through March 14, 2025. The measure now advances to the Senate, where it is expected to pass and reach the President’s desk. |
