Rep. Carbajal to Tour Santa Barbara Affordable Housing Units

Santa Barbara – On Friday, Rep. Salud Carbajal (CA-24) will tour three affordable housing developments with Santa Barbara City Housing Authority Executive Director, Rob Fredericks. The tour will focus on federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs that create and support low-income housing.

In Congress, Rep. Carbajal has supported local Housing Authority programs by co-sponsoring bipartisan legislation to strengthen the affordable housing tax credit. Rep. Carbajal has also urged his colleagues in Congress to increase funding for HUD affordable housing and home counseling grant programs. 

“Affordable housing is a critical need on the Central Coast, and the Santa Barbara City Housing Authority continues to lead the effort in providing permanent housing to our low income residents,” said Rep. Carbajal. “As proposed budget cuts threaten these critical programs, I will continue to strongly advocate for fully funding affordable housing programs in Congress.”
