Carbajal announces Women of the Year Award “During Women’s History Month, while recognizing trailblazers for equality in our past, it is also important to acknowledge some of the women throughout the Central Coast who are working to improve our quality of life,” said Rep. Carbajal. “This past year, the Me Too movement has shed an important light on the pervasive culture of sexual harassment in our country. Every woman deserves to feel safe in the workplace.” “Movements like this, and other issues including the gender wage gap and protecting women’s access to healthcare, remind us that there is still so much to be done in the fight for equality. I encourage constituents to nominate someone they know on the Central Coast that has made a positive impact through her service..” The only requirement for ‘Women on the Year Award’ nominations is that the nominee reside in the 24th Congressional District. Rep. Carbajal is interested in honoring those who have, through their work or volunteerism, gone above and beyond to positively impact our communities on the Central Coast. Rep. Carbajal will honor those chosen by submitting their stories into the official Congressional Record, recognizing and preserving the impact of their service. Click here to submit a nomination. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, March 19th. ### |
