What’s Your Lawmaker Saying About Trump, Comey and Flynn?

After reports emerged that former FBI Director James Comey said President Trump had asked him to shut down an FBI investigation into ousted National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, KQED collected statements made by California’s members of Congress reacting to the news.

We gathered comments made via social media, as well as from press releases sent out by each member’s office. We included links to their Twitter and Facebook pages where you can see some of their statements, plus additional comments they’ve made.

We will continue to update the post as we receive comments.

Salud Carbajal (D-Santa Barbara, District 24)

“Reports that President Trump interfered in an active FBI investigation again raises troubling questions regarding abuses of power in the White House. This latest alarming revelation makes it even more imperative that Congress establish a bipartisan commission, independent of the President, to continue any investigation into illegal actions taken by this Administration both during and after the 2016 presidential campaign.”
