Congressman Salud Carbajal issued the following statement on enforcement activity by ICE on the Central Coast this weekend: “While my team and I are still awaiting more details on ICE’s enforcement activity on the Central Coast this weekend, I have deep concerns given President Trump’s months of extremist rhetoric on mass deportations and its potential impact on our region. “Instilling fear in our communities is no way to fix our immigration system, and the potential targeting of people who have positively contributed to our nation for years and decades does nothing but drive fear into families across our region who do nothing but make our community better. “As I continue to fight against extremist policies and actions taken by the Trump Administration, I encourage families to be cautious and aware to know their legal rights: carbajal.house.gov/knowyourrights.” El congresista Salud Carbajal dió a conocer el siguiente informe sobre las actividades de ICE en la Costa Central que ocurrieron el fin de semana: “Mientras mi equipo y yo estamos esperando más detalles sobre la actividad de ICE en la costa central esta fin de semana, tengo profundas preocupaciones dados los meses de la retórica extremista del presidente Trump sobre las deportaciones masivas y su posible impacto en nuestra región. “Inculcar miedo en nuestras comunidades no es una solución de nuestro sistema de inmigración, y apuntar potencialmente a las personas que han vivido y contribuido a nuestra nación durante años y décadas no hace más que llevar el miedo a las familias de toda nuestra región que solo se dedican a mejorar nuestra comunidad. “Mientras continúo luchando contra las políticas y acciones extremistas tomadas por la Administración Trump, ánimo a las personas a estar atentas y conscientes de conocer sus derechos legales: carbajal.house.gov/knowyourrights.” |
