Rep. Carbajal Joins Bipartisan Climate Caucus

Bipartisan group explores policy options to address climate change, cuts through the politics

Today, Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-CA) announced he is joining the bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus with fellow Marine, Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-WI). The Caucus, which is kept evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, serves as a working group dedicated to advancing proposals that will mitigate and reduce climate change while at the same time encouraging economic growth and job creation.

“With relentless assaults on our environmental protections from the current Administration, it is critical that we reach across the aisle in Congress to find solutions that encourage a strong and vibrant economy, while also acting as good stewards of our environment,” said Rep. Carbajal. “I look forward to working with the Climate Solutions Caucus, to advance bi-partisan policy to combat the devastating effects of climate change and protect our Central Coast environment and economy.”

“Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t matter—protecting our environment and working toward building a more sustainable future is in the interest of all Americans,” said Rep. Gallagher. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to explore 21st century, “all of the above” policies that prioritize reliable, affordable, and market-based solutions to this issue.”
